April features the Fairfield County Family Festival! This program was started in 1996 to create time to celebrate and spend times with our families. During the hectic pace of day to day life, it is easy for our families to suffer from not being able to spend enough time together. These events

provide opportunities for everyone to join together to relax and have fun with your family!

These events include the Matt Jergens Comedy and Juggling Show hosted at the West After School Center Thursday April 10, 2008 at 4 pm. This is a free event sponsored by The Recovery

Center and Kaleidoscope Entertainment. Other activities will be held at the Fairfield County District Library and their branches, Alley Park, Tiki Lanes, and AHA! For a complete listing of activities this month, please take the Fairfield County Family Festival Hand-Out located on our parent        

We are still working on finalizing the details of our Earth Day Event. Currently, we are partnering with the Girl Scout Troop here at Cedar Heights Elementary to make our Earth Day Event a success. Details will be finalized by next week.

If you have any suggestions for activities that you would like to see at our Earth Day event please contact Jane Davis or Della Maynard with the details.

The last day for After School Tutoring will be May 21st—which is about 7 weeks away. As we near the end of the year, we would like to take this opportunity to invite you,

as the parents and guardians of our students, to give us feedback about the After School Program. We know that you had the opportunity to share your comments in January following conferences. However, as the program nears the end of it’s first year we would like to hear about how you feel about the program, how your child feels about attending, and any other opinions and suggestions that you would like to share with us.

Finally, I would like to remind all of our families that I am here to provide connections with any community resources and services that you or

your family may need. I am available during the school day and during after school programming times.

It is important to us that we assist with making your life a little less stressful in your interactions with the organizations and resources available in our community.
